What is a PRP WellBoom®?
A PRP WellBoom® is a sleeve of white fabric containing PRP®, and weighted at one end. PRP® Powder is an organic bioremediation accelerator that vastly shortens the time it takes for hydrocarbons to break down into CO2 and H2O.
What is a PRP WellBoom® used for?
PRP WellBoom® are used to absorb oil and petrol in groundwater monitoring wells. PRP WellBooms® facilitate the monitoring of groundwater by absorbing floating petroleum more effectively and less expensively than traditional bailing methods.
When installed, the weighted WellBoom® submerges about 50% and adjusts to changing water levels. It remains buoyant until depleted. Not only will the WellBoom® absorb ‘free product’ on contact, but it also won’t allow ‘leaching’. It then promotes the rapid biodegradation of the absorbed, groundwater-contaminating hydrocarbons.
Simple to install, simple to maintain with no costly disposal of messy, smelly, oil-soaked material required when WellBoom™ is done. Simply throw the boom casing in the recycling.
What size is a PRP WellBoom?
Each WellBoom® is 5cm x 92cm and contains 720 grammes of PRP.
One WellBoom® can immediately absorb between 3kg and 4kg of hydrocarbon and bioremediate approximately 10kg of hydrocarbon over time.
